Transitional styling NOW

Last year around this time I was sharing transitional looks and giving all the encouragement I could to help you through the endless days of pounding heat! Though this year looks no different when it comes to the temperature, it does feel a little strange to talk about pulling out your jackets and hats for the office and outings - seeing that for the most part we are still at home.

So here is how I am looking at transitional styling in our current state of style:

1. Keep Around Your Tanks - This is one that stood true last year and still works today. We have all been dressing down a little more these days, but as we trade in our shorts for jeans in the next months, we can keep some tanks around to easily move into Fall.

2. Let’s Talk Accessories - Last year I suggested beginning to add in felt hats and booties around this time. Now, of course this might feel silly in days when we are hardly finding the strength to get out of our workout clothes… But what I do want to point out is that THIS IS NOT FOREVER! And remembering those little things that pull our look together is important. Maybe it is that you spend some time hunting for a great pair of sale booties while deals are at their height. Or maybe it is that you throw on a felt hat when going on your next grocery run. Little things add up to big changes in your mood and outlook. Don’t forget the impact a little something now can have on your long term feels.

3. Add In Black - Summer is always a great time for bright fun colors! And while I love to sport them all year long, this is the time of year I begin adding black back into my wardrobe. May it be a black short or a tee (the most realistic for right now) I like to pair darker colors with whites and creams for a classic and simple transition.

So, as we start our transition into the new season, I hope you all keep your heads held high and your hopes on the future. Even in these trying times!

With LOVE and grace,

Elizabeth
