Stylish at Home

Getting Dressed is such a mood booster and that’s so important right now! So I wanted to provide a few tips on how to navigate styling at home so you can feel great everyday!!!

Here are a few simple things you can do or perhaps shift your mindset about styling it up at home:

  1. Take a look you would wear out of the house and just downplay it by throwing on a cute pair of flat sandals or better yet go barefoot.

  2. Add 2 “jazzed up” pieces to any type of look.  This is the difference between looking casual and looking chic!

  3. Take 5 minutes to get dressed.  Yes, put a little effort into your look each day!

  4. Stay away from sweats & work out clothes all day!

A few tips for specific pieces:

  1. JEWELS - Pile them on! Make it fun and make it as bold as you wish!  This also applies for a more dainty delicate look.

  2. HAIR- Try a new casual hair do. This is the time to try something different than your go to. Add a scarf in your hair, do braids or a bun to spice things up!

  3. MAKE UP - Create your el naturale make up look by focusing on 2-3 areas (skin, eyebrows, lips, blush, mascara - you choose!) And don’t forget your perfume!

  4. DRESSES -  Turn to the long flowy dresses to add some glamour into your day! Kimonos, caftans, maxi and midi dresses are great options!

  5. JEANS & SHORTS - Pair jeans or shorts with a nice blouse and lots of accessories for a relaxed but put together look!

  6. SKIRTS- Midi Flowy Skirts + Graphic Tee + Sneakers. Need I say more??

  7. ATHLEISURE  - If you are going the athleisure route, style it up with accessories and el naturale make up. And don’t be afraid to dress up your PJs with accessories.

I realize this requires a little extra work and most people get dressed when they are out and about with other people.  However, I think it’s important to do this for ourselves.  Life is harder right now and honestly depressing for so many.  We owe it to ourselves to not give up and just wear workout clothes all day.  I promise you an extra 5 minutes of getting dressed will make a HUGE difference in your day!  I hope this helps bring a little light, inspiration and fun to your days!
