SIGNIFICANCE OF FASHION: BACK TO SCHOOL

Anyone else SO OVER the yo yo effect with updates on the kiddos going back to school?  With so many confusing updates, teachers protesting, and continual unknowns, this week I’m putting my energy towards something I CAN control to bring me strength.  FASHION!!!!

While I know many people have the mindset of that it’s not important to get dressed if we are hanging out at home.  That also spills over to that there is no need to buy new clothes.  And I’m sure that holds true for planning for kiddos going back to school.  Not to mention this crazy heat!!!  I realize there aren’t many motivating factors to shop & get dressed.  However, I’ve said it before and will continue to say again, we can still get dressed in “normal clothes” even if we are hanging out at home.  It’s important for our mental health!!! And planning for Back to School should be no different even if Back to School looks different this year.  It’s these small actions that we can take into our own hands that give us a little control in this moment.

In similar fashion to the cycle I work with clients, I typically do 2-3 rounds of seasonal shopping for my kiddos.

July/August: shop for the fall (back to school)

January: shop for winter

March/April: shop for spring/summer

I typically like to buy inexpensive but cute clothes for my kids.  Target tends to be our go to lately given my kid’s age and how hard they are on clothes.  The last two years I feel like I’m late to stock up at Target because every other mom loves Target as much as I do.  So while I’m sure a lot of you moms are uneasy about what is going to happen in the fall with school, I still want to encourage you to take control with something as small as shopping for back to school.  And do it fast before all the sizes are out at Target ☺

with LOVE and grace,

Elizabeth
