Trends Versus Style
Before we even get started here, I want to give the standard definitions of trend and style.
Trend: noun: the popular taste at a given time.
Style: noun: a way of behaving or approaching a situation that is characteristic of or favored by a particular person.
So now, with that out of the way let’s talk about Trends vs. Style!
It may or may not be known to you that I am someone who is not the biggest fan of dressing for the trends. Trends are interesting and grab your attention for a brief second. But, before you know it, they are on their way out the door and you are standing there with a feather in your hair that you aren’t quite sure how to get out. We have all been there. Sacrificing our personal style to be on trend. Now don’t get me wrong, there is NOTHING wrong with being trendy occasionally. I just think there is a time and place, and it should be incorporated into your own individual style!
Style is something that is quintessentially you and is okay that it changes naturally over time. Whether you are a more structurally chic dresser, or a relaxed gal, your style should be something you stand true in. Something that you know and can explain at the drop of a hat!
When I style my clients, I rely more on their personal expression rather than what is trendy. My number one goal is to make you comfortable with the clothing we pick out. If you aren’t comfortable, you won’t wear half the things you purchase. It is as simple as that.
I take my time learning about you and what your preferences are. So, let me wrap this up by saying, trends are not bad. Style is just a little bit better!
