How to Strategically Plan to be Stylish: Your Roadmap
Most clients come to me with the goal of wanting to be stylish. They typically want to level up by being more thoughtful with their choices in purchasing clothes & styling. Many times these clients want to start styling or shopping right away and I get it….it’s more fun to shop and style. I quickly point them in the direction of my process. I’ll give you a hint…it starts with cleaning. I know, I know, it doesn’t sound fun BUT it’s necessary!!!
With a fresh new year and fresh new ideas on various areas of our lives, I wanted to give you a realistic view on how to strategically plan to be stylish. An overall view and your roadmap to looking stylish. This is something that takes time and a commitment to work on it consistently. I realize that we don’t typically approach being stylish with a strategy so I wanted to map it out for you so you can plan accordingly:
YOUR ROADMAP:
Step One→Closet Clean Out in January AND August
Step Two→Organize in January AND August
Step Three→Inventory & Shopping Plan in January AND August
Step Four→Shop Spring in February AND Shop Fall in September
This roadmap gives you time to work on each step with plenty of wiggle room. Each step builds on the next step to get you ready to shop. It also sets you up to start shopping at the beginning of each new season to allow for exchanges, reorders, and alterations. Alterations are a very important step that most people don’t plan for with adequate timing. This also allows for time to find the right item and not to just settle because you are in a hurry. This is how we end up with a closet full of items that we don’t necessarily love. This process gets you ready for spring events by March and Fall events by October. Please know that I still continue to add in a few spring pieces (those hard to time items, etc.) throughout March-May and new fall pieces throughout October-December. So the bottom line is you need to plan in advance and now’s the time to book all these steps for yourself to get you ready for the Spring Season!!! Even if you aren’t a client of mine, please book an appointment with yourself to ensure you make it happen. I know how easily we can procrastinate to get out of cleaning. I completely understand!
As always, I’m here to help so please reach out if I can be of assistance.
with LOVE and grace,
Elizabeth
