February is the month of đź’–LOVE đź’– but it’s also the month of organizing here at EEC.  While this is a topic I love to cover all year long, I especially love it at this time of the year.  With a fresh new beginning we start January with a focus on cleaning and then naturally February follows with organizing.  If you have been following me for sometime, this content is nothing new.  However, I’ve found that even when we know the right steps to take, it still can be helpful for a refresher.  Lord knows I need all the extra help I can get!!

MAJOR GAME CHANGER ORGANIZING STEPS

  1. Matching Hangers

    • Same Material/Same Color Hangers

  2. Color Coordinating

    • White-Black-Gray-Camel-Brown-Purple-Blue-Green-Yellow-Orange-Red

MORE ORGANIZING STEPS

  1. Organize Shirts by Sleeve

    • Cami-Sleeveless-Short Sleeve-Three Quarter-Long Sleeve

  2. Hang Clothes all the same direction

  3. When pulling an item from the closet, the unused hanger should be moved to one area with other unused hangers.

  4. Stuff your purses to hold their shape

BONUS ORGANIZING STEPS

  1. Oil Reed Diffuser

  2. Framed photos

  3. Artwork

  4. Trays, Catch all dishes, jewelry boxes

  5. Beautiful Light Fixture

  6. Chair or ottoman (if you have room)

  7. Floor Length Mirror

  8. Day light LightBulbs

  9. Stepstool

If you only remember 2 things from this blog, it should be matching hangers & color coordinating.  I promise those are major game changers and most times people don’t realize until they make the change.  Trust me, do it now!    The “More Organizing Steps” refine the organization in your closet.  It’s also important to note that I typically work in customized organizing elements based on my client’s homes.  So there is definitely more steps/tools that I use but it’s different for each closet so it’s hard to share those here.  I personally like to take it a step further in adding to your organized closet.  These “bonus steps” really elevate your closet into a beautiful dressing room.  Your closet should be a sanctuary that brings you peace, beauty, strength, & positive energy.  I believe it’s worth it to infuse some of these elements (whatever you have space for) to layer in an extra level of a CONFIDENCE boost when you get dressed everyday.

I hope these tips are helpful.  If I’ve overwhelmed you or you just don’t like organizing, call me and I’m happy to help!

with LOVE and grace,

Elizabeth
